Valentines day used to be about my sweetheart and I going out to a fabulous restaurant for dinner and then to a romatic movie or something of the sort. We might have even enjoyed some overnight getaways over the years. This year we celebrated our special day in style with my 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter. We set the table with red placemats and pink dishes and had some red tulips as a centerpiece. We shared little valentine gifts with each other and spent the rest of our night playing with the new toys we had received. It seemed so perfect except that my daughter was done eating and wanted out of her highchair before my sweetheart and I ever sat down. My son didn't like his food and said he would not eat it becuase it was stinging his lips. We had to get up and make something different for him to settle down. Our food was cold and we were tired, but when our kids climbed up on our laps at the end of the night and said thank you for their special day it was all worth while.
