A Perfect White Colorado Christmas!

Our Christmas day was perfect. The six grandkids were angels waiting downstairs together until everyone was awake and ready for them to come up and see what Santa brought. I never had to sit and wait like they do and they are so good about it too. They came up the stairs, through Pa Pa's booby trap bells and whistles and found a living room full to the brim!

As a parent you want your child to feel like Christmas is the funnest day of their life and that they got exactly what they hoped for. So, this is a funny story....

Breck, my nephew, came up the stairs and looked at his "Santa" gifts which included a brand new bike. Instead of a shout of glee he said, "Where's my Wii?" Isaiah, my son, looked at his "Santa" gifts and said, "Where's my bike? Breck got one!" The funny thing is that Isaiah and our family got a Wii from Santa, but no bike. Breck got his bike from Santa and a Wii as a family gift. Everyone was so blessed, but in the moment their little words can zap your heart real quick! This conversation was forgotten as soon as it ended, but it made me think of how hard it must have been for my parents to get it "just perfect" for five kids when we were growing up!

The kids got a really nice thank you note from Santa Claus.

Here is our family by our "Santa chair" where all our goodies were found!

Alyssa got the pink pony she'd been wanting from mom & dad.

Isaiah got Bakugan from Alyssa (whatever that is)! Still haven't figured it out completely!

Here is Pa Pa with his new shovel.

Kacey had to get a little "LeapFrog Love" of course!
Chef Billy made us a great Christmas dinner at the Kilowatt Corner (another place we rented to fit us all!) We had Pork loin with Apple Chutney, Gruyere Cheese Potatoes, Salad, bread and green beans. Topped off with some Pie! Some of the sides and desserts he got some help with thank goodness! It was a big meal! : )
We had a little dance. You can see Isaiah and Alyssa's partners here.

Uncle Josh got Alyssa some new blocks which she has played and played with. Uncle John is helping her with her tower while we played other games.
We had our 1st Bi-Annual Talent Show!
You can see a couple of our great entries below!
Billy & I were doing the #1 voted dance of 2008. The George N. Polka of course!

Kacey & Elise sang and played some great songs for us! They are very talented little ladies!

Here is our family after dinner. Of course Alyssa will not smile and this was our 5th attempt!
And then...the entire gang! What a blessing it is to call you family and even more of a blessing to also whole-heartedly call you friends!

I love you all! Thank you for a wonderful Christmas!
