I'm still here!

Hi out there! We are still here, although its been over a week since I posted. We drove to Oklah City on Saturday the 27th to catch a cheap flight to Denver, Co. We drove to my parents house and spent a week with them and the rest of my family hiking and celebrating the upcoming 4th of July. The little town they live in makes a huge deal out of the 4th and there are rodeos and pageants and bank robbery reenactments and barn dances and concerts and parades and carnivals and BBQs. Lots do do in a short amount of time. We loved seeing everyone in the family and some old friends. I so love the pace of life there and the cool nights and mornings so you can get outside and walk and hike and just enjoy.

One day we went on a hike to Trapper's Lake and although it was still beautiful it was so sad to see what a fire had done to the area. The fire was called Big Fish fire and it burned over 17,000 acres of land about 5 years ago. There are still so many bare tree trunks sticking up everywhere it looks terrible compared the untouched beauty it used to be. How destructive fire can be and how quickly it can destroy. Anyway, on the way down Billy & I rode bikes for about 8 miles on the gravel road and it was so beautiful and peaceful. We could see the roaring river and the sunset the entire ride down and you can't beat a view like that with mountains behind you.
We roasted marshmellows right before that out in the open by a beautiful small lake where Billy and Isaiah caught some little white fish. Loved that too!

Well - I'll be in touch. Still in Denver, but working this week. The kids are at "cousins camp" with mom and dad and Billy is here with me. We are hoping to sneak a couple "nights out" after work. :)
